Our carnivores are closely monitored on the reserve to ensure they are fit and healthy. As part of this process, it is also possible to spend time out in the bush under the guidance of a leading big cat expert and the vet. This is a fabulous chance to learn in depth about the behaviour and life cycle of lions, leopards and hyena. There will be the chance to track lions on foot, by four wheel drive and at night. Another highlight is "calling in" when the sounds of a hyena is played from loudspeakers to draw in the animal for darting and tranquilizing purposes. This is carried out in conjunction with a vet who will perform a health check on the animal and is a once in a lifetime chance to get closer than imaginable to one of these amazing animals.
