Ranger led daily bush walks are hugely popular with guests. Departing after breakfast this is the opportunity to get up close to see and appreciate not just animals but the whole ecosystem. Assisted by a tracker a short drive is taken out into the reserve from where the walk starts. The duration of the walk will depend on the wishes of the group and the weather. In summer it can be very hot by mid morning so shorter walks may be appropriate.

Walking also brings one into contact with the natural flora. Your ranger can explain the relationship between the plants and trees in the eco-system and how the various animals depend on one another through a sensitive system of co-dependency and co-habitation.

Safety is of course of prime concern and rangers are armed with a rifle and the tracker carries a portable VHF radio. Please obey the safety instructions when issued by the ranger as these are for everybody’s safety.

Please be sure to bring comfortable walking boots and a good sun hat.
