This drive takes you in an open 4x4 safari vehicle into a 4,000 hectare conservancy adjacent to Kwa Madwala’s northern border which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park.
Options include:
Please note:
Summer months: 1st November to 30th March
Winter months: 1st April to 30th October
Your ranger will give you an early morning wake up call on request.
The drive departs from camp and travels through the Kwa Madwala reserve exiting along the north eastern border. There is a six minute drive through the wilderness area between Kwa Madwala and our own private entrance gate into this concession area which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park.
The concession has 12km of Crocodile River frontage which offers excellent chances of seeing herds of elephant, rhino and buffalo, with a major amount of hippo especially along and in the actual river itself. You are likely to see lion and leopard as well.
Crocodile River
Cocodile River is spectacular in itself with magnificent sunrises and sunsets and views of river and bird life as well as an abundance of other wildlife.
The southern section of the Kruger National Park is renowned for its rich game and diversity of fauna and flora.
The main advantages of visiting the private concession area are best described as follows:
-
This is a private Kruger experience where only Kwa Madwala and the Mjejane tourism venture operate so there will be few other tourists, buses or cars.
-
All roads used on this drive are gravel.
-
Rangers are less restricted in terms of accessing a specific sighting.
-
The experience can be compared to the game drives conducted by most of the private lodges in the Kruger National Park who have concession areas.
