Don't just take our word for it. Here is a selection of comments from past gappers both recent and from our early days.
The highlights for me were: microlighting, Moholoholo Rehab centre, seeing leopard and the whole of Kruger national par, Sabie adventures, camping in Mozambique and seeing the sea, riding the elephants Tswale and Modjadji. The staff were awesome. Shaz and Garon are amazing coordinators / rangers and made the trip fantastic. Food was brilliant and Dudu our cook a legend.K.M - Surrey UK, 12 Week May 2006
It has been an experience of a lifetime and one that I will always remember. I would definitely recommend it to everyone, just do it! The whole trip was an experience of a lifetime, so its pretty hard to pick just one highlight! Spending time in Kruger was amazing, especially spotting leopard to make the Big 5. Microlighting over Crocodile River was awesome, especially looking at the wildlife and scenery in a different way. Other highlights include: Moholoholo, Mozambique, Sabi and elephant-back safari.L.B - Cheshire UK - 12 Week May 2006All the staff are fantastic! Shaz & Garon have been amazing and without them, none of this would have been possible. I've done and experienced so many things that most people never get to do. Boyboy and Dudu have both been amazing in what they do, as well as all the other rangers and tracker who help to make Kwa Madwala what it is. The food is amazing. I've never eaten so much in my whole life, you definitely never go hungry!!
Get out here now!! The whole experience was awesome. All of the staff are friendly and up for a laugh.JJ, Wiltshire, England - 6 weeks, Jun 2006The food was absolutely amazing. Some many highlights to choose from but I would say: elephant riding and interaction, tracking lions with Gerrie, Microlighting over the reserve and just being out in the bush day after day.
Coming to Kwa was one of the best decisions I've ever made, I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone.TH, Adelaide, Australia - 25 days, August 2006I've had such an amazing time and only wish I could stay longer! The people and the surroundings and the activities made this experience the best of my life. It's hard to single out one particular experience (as a highlight) because every day held an adventure, but if I had to choose, I'd say Sabie (extreme adventures) and spending time with the elephants. Every single staff member was so wonderful. I couldn't speak more highly of all of the staff at Kwa. They were all so welcoming and helpful and friendly, and I'll miss them all. The food was sensational. Dudu always managed to make even the simplest thing taste amazing.
Kwa Madwala is an amazing place, great people who became great friends. Great food! Awesome experience, learnt a lot about a huge range of subjects, the wildlife, the people and South Africa in general. Such a stunning location, fresh air and really beautiful landscape. I've never eaten breakfast in such a stunning peaceful spot. The elephants are the most beautiful!! Highlights … just sitting in the sun taking in the surroundings and definitely the excursion to Sabie! The bridge swinging was the most amazing feeling!AB, Adelaide, Australia - 25 days, August 2006Staff were all great! All amazing people, so open and supportive. Became more like friends than staff, but kept everything organised and under control in a very comfortable manner. Such nice people, friendly and accepting attitudes. Great people.
I have had the time of my life. The programme is packed full of variety and amazing experiences - from bridge swinging (!), microlighing to tracking lions, calling in hyena and the elephant back safari. Just a fabulous time spent in a fabulous place with great people. Wish I could have stayed longer!S.O. Hampshire, UK - 12 Week May 2004
Fantastic! This has been a life changing experience for me. To see the wildlife daily and get involved in some many tasks around the reserve a real eye opener. The staff were very knowledgeable, fun and energetic always looking to enlighten and help us. The food was superb and the accommodation more than adequate. My highlights would include - tracking and the darting of the lions, camping in Kruger, microlights and watching the sun rise at Wilson's Kop from my sleeping bag! Awesome.L.Y.
